Work has just been completed on US President Trump's plan to resurface the Reflecting Pool near the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall. Trump ordered the long basin, designed to capture reflections of the towering Washington obelisk on the Mall, to be drained and painted in what he calls "American flag blue." It is expected to reopen before the July 4 holiday, which will also mark the 250th anniversary of US independence.
